What kind of photos will work? [top]
Your snapshot should be sent without any compression or downsizing. Some snapshots may not work as well for certain styles or art sizes. Your Pixie Rep will contact you with any artist concerns over the quality of your snapshots. Our goal is to create the most meaningful art possible. Our artists will use their talents and skills to the utmost to help you achieve your masterpiece.
How do I get the photos to your artists? [top]
At the end of the ordering process, you will be asked to upload electronic versions of your snapshots. If you only have print versions available, you can scan them at 600 dpi. If you do not own a scanner, you may choose to take your photos to a copy service such as Kinko's and ask them to scan your photos at the guidelines mentioned. Picture Pixie recommends any of the following picture formats: jpg, eps, psd, tiff

What is "Pixie Perfect"? [top]
Our Picture Pixie artists have designed countless styles of personalized art for our customers. Throughout their experience, they have collected their favorite styles, including the medium, size, and framing options that became their personal favorites. Every style lends itself better to certain snapshots. Use our artists' experiences to make your artwork the very best it can be.
What if I don't like my first set of choices? [top]
As a Picture Pixie customer, you have three full rounds of minor changes that can be made without additional charges. These changes include those that do not require an excessive change in artists' time or materials. Changes that may result in additional charges can include size changes, medium changes, use of different or additional snapshots, or style changes. You will be notified of any change that will result in additional charges before those changes will be made.
What's the difference between canvas and print? [top]
Canvas refers to the material that is generally used for a painting. There is a slight texture to canvas which gives it a distinctive artistic feel. Framed canvas is mounted to mat board before it is framed. Gallery wrapped canvas is wrapped around "stretcher bars", continuing part of the print around the sides. The result is a look that parallels paintings that would hang in a gallery.
Prints refer to photography-grade paper that is mounted to mat board and framed.
What is "Gallery wrap"? [top]
Gallery wrap is unique to our canvas prints. The canvas is wrapped around a 1.5" wooden stretcher frame. Gallery wrap prints are ready-to-hang and do not require a frame.
What if I want something different than what is offered? [top]
If you have unique ideas that cannot be captured within our standard designs, please e-mail our customer service department. Your Pixie Rep can take your description and give you a personalized bid on your artwork.
What is a "proof"? [top]
A "proof" is an electronic version of your design. You will be able to preview the look of your artwork and make changes. After you give final approval, your art will be printed and shipped.

Picture Pixie is dedicated to your satisfaction. If for any reason you are not satisfied, and we cannot meet your expectations, please contact your Pixie Rep for information on returning your artwork to receive a full refund. Click here to read more.
Should I get duplicates at the time of my order? [top]
Picture Pixie can offer a substantial discount (40%) on duplicates purchased at the time your initial order is made. So think of grandparents, and other family members who may want a picture of their loved one. If you order duplicates at a later time, the discount is only 20% due to the additional costs incurred.
